WOODVIEW made it into the quarter-finals on Sunday with a convincing win agaisnt a strong side who ultimately finished the tie with nine men. The Dundalk team went ahead on 23 minutes when a ball by Niall O'Hagan was headed home by Mickey O'Kane.

However, quarter of an hour later, Sqaure got back on terms when a sweet shot from 20 yards found the bottom corner.

Then, the whole game changed when the mid-Louth outfit were reduced to ten men for a reckless tackle by the centre-forward.

Woodview regained the lead early in the second half when Shane English headed home a Gavin McKeever corner but just shy of the hour mark the hosts were back in it following good work down the right wing, 2-2.

It didn't take long for Woodview to wrest back the advantage. Anto Reilly played in O'Kane who made no mistake, and three minutes later English got his second after slack marking to make it 4-2.

Ray McCann soon brought up goal number five, thanks to Stephen Grimes and Colin Warnock who released the final pass.

Square were further reduced in numbers in the 84th minute when in quick succession the same player picked up two yellow cards.

There was no winner in last week's lotto. Next jackport, € 450.
